Cialis pill is the brand name for tadalafil, a prescription drug for men used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). Tadalafil is also prescribed under the name Adcirca for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension.

In addition, it has been approved to treat the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or prostate enlargement. Cialis helps increase blood flow to the penis, allowing a man to maintain an erection longer.

Although similar to its competitors, sildenafil (Viagra) and vardenafil (Levitra), Cialis is widely referred as weekend pill due to lasting effect for 36 hours.

Warnings

·         Cialis should not be taken more than once every 24 hours.

·         A man must be sexually excited for the treatment to work. It does not provide an instant erection without stimulation.

·         Men who use Cialis should be healthy enough to have sex, not take nitrates to relieve chest pain (angina)

·         Seek medical attention if the erection lasts longer than four hours or is painful.

Cialis Dosage

·         Cialis 60 Mg tablets are yellow, film-coated, almond-shaped, available in doses of 10, 20 and 40 milligrams (mg).

·         Cialis for daily use comes in 2.5 mg and 5 mg.

·         The recommended dosage of Cialis for ED is 10 mg taken at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. The dosage may be increased to 20 mg or reduced to 5 mg depending on efficacy and tolerability.

·         The recommended dosage for Cialis once a day for ED is 2.5 mg at the same time each day. The dosage may be increased to 5 mg depending on efficacy and tolerability.

·         For patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension, doses of 20, 40 and 60 mg may be prescribed. As a general rule, after 16 weeks of treatment, a daily dose of 40 mg has been shown to be effective.

·         For patients with both erectile dysfunction and BPA, the recommended dose of Cialis 10 mg at the same time each day.
